While there is no ‘typical’ Chevening Scholar, they are looking for the kind of people who have the passion, ideas, and influence to provide the solutions and leadership needed to create a better future.

Because these scholarships are fully funded (flights, accommodation, and course fees are all included), students are free to focus on achieving their professional goals and maximizing the experience of a lifetime. They will live and study in the UK for a year, during which time they will develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK. On completing their studies, they will leave the UK equipped with the knowledge and networks necessary to bring their own ideas to life.

What matters is the candidates’ ability to submit a thoughtful application that demonstrates they are capable of excelling on an intense master’s course in the UK, and that they have a clear vision for their future.

Eligibilities
To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship an applicant must:
- Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
- Commit to returning to their home country for at least two years after their scholarship ends.
- Have at least two years of work experience (2,800 hours).
- Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for a UK master’s programme.
- Apply to three different and eligible UK university courses. An applicant must have received an unconditional offer from at least one of these course choices by the references and education documents deadline listed on the application timeline.
Work experience requirement:
Before applying for a Chevening Scholarship, applicants need at least two years (2,800 hours) of work experience.
This can include:
- Full-time employment
- Part-time employment
- Voluntary work
- Paid or unpaid internships

Application Process
All applications for Chevening must be completed via the online application system. The candidates can access the application system during the application window by following the ‘apply today’ link on the apply page of their respective home country or territory.
Using the online application system the candidates have to :
- Complete the online registration form.
- Pass the eligibility checker.
- Make a note of your access code.
- Complete each section of the application form.
- Submit application.
