Applications are now open for Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program 2020-21 in Romania.
Grant Activity:
Teach courses and seminars at the undergraduate and graduate level with a special emphasis on practical applications. For research and teaching/research proposals, conduct research in area/s of specialization. Assist with curriculum development and other activities as requested.
Assist with the further development of media literacy education and cutting-edge cybersecurity studies, especially at the university level, in Romania.
Scholars may also be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities.
In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities.

- Stipend
- Monthly base stipend: $2,640-$2,860
- Living: $250-$450 per month, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
- Taking into consideration the Special Award Benefits as well, Fulbright Scholar grants to Romania offer some of the most generous benefits in the region.
- Estimated Travel and Relocation Allowance
- Starting from $3,200, plus $2,200 travel allowance for each of accompanying dependents, to a maximum of $7,600.
- Special Award Benefits
- Benefits include an additional monthly stipend of RON 3,200 (approximately $700, depending on the exchange rate), as well as a housing allowance of $680-$900 per month, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
