Call for SoCreative Africa learning programme 2025 is open now!!!

The SoCreative Africa learning programme for aspiring and early-stage young African entrepreneurs is focused on entrepreneurship and delivers a collection of free online courses for the next generation of African leaders to support them through their business journey.

Upon completing the programme, participants will receive a certificate as evidence of their achievement. The certificate will make you eligible to apply for sustained support through mentoring, coaching, incubation and acceleration through our wider work in participating countries.

The programme is developed to support the British Council’s wider Creative Economy strand, designed to help develop an ecosystem in which young entrepreneurs can thrive.

Social Impact through Creative Entrepreneurship
Provide participants with an understanding of impact entrepreneurship, social innovation and factors to consider in pivoting enterprises to achieve social impact

This intermediate course provides relevant insight for policy stakeholders in relation to the creative economy

Eligibilities

  1. Residency: Applicants must be residents of one of the participating African countries: Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Sudan, or Zimbabwe.
  2.  Stage of Entrepreneurship: The programme is tailored for individuals who are either:
    • Aspiring entrepreneurs: Those with a strong interest in starting a business within the creative sector.
    • Early-stage entrepreneurs: Individuals who have recently launched a creative enterprise and are seeking guidance to grow and sustain their business.
  3. Age Requirement: While specific age criteria are not universally stipulated, some sources suggest a focus on young entrepreneurs, typically between 18 and 35 years old.
  4. Industry Focus: Applicants should be involved in or aiming to enter the creative industries, which encompass sectors such as:
    • Fashion
    • Film and MediaMusic
    • Digital Arts
    • Design (e.g., graphic, product, interior)
    • Photography
    • Publishing
    • Advertising
    • Creative Technology
  5. Commitment to Learning: The programme offers self-paced online courses. Applicants should have the dedication to complete the modules and actively engage with the content to fully benefit from the resources provided.
