The fellowship culminates with a visit to Brussels facilitating further in-person engagement. At the program’s conclusion, fellows collaborate on a final publication presenting concrete policy recommendations pertaining to the chosen topic, released as an outcome of the BFF initiative. Fellows then also become a part of a larger, active Alumni network- finding opportunities to engage with the Bertelsmann Foundation Fellowship beyond their fellowship year.

The Bertelsmann Foundation is looking for Fellows for their upcoming 2025 Cohort!

This year, the Bertelsmann Foundation Fellowship will bring together individuals from European Union Member States, European Union Institutions, United States Government, and the transatlantic private sector for a span of five months to discuss the geopolitics of space and the pivotal juncture the transatlantic alliance finds itself, balancing cooperation and competition in space exploration.

The program will focus on EU-U.S. Space Cooperation, regulatory alignment, and industrial competitiveness. Over the course of the program, fellows will meet with diverse, high-level stakeholders to discuss the various contours of this critical topic.

The Bertelsmann Foundation will select six public sector participants, evenly divided between the U.S. and Europe, and four private sector individuals from both sides of the Atlantic. Fellows will travel to both Brussels and Washington, DC to enrich their fellowship experience.
