Bayer Foundation Fellowship Program offers scientific fellowships for outstanding master, PhD, and medical students to pursue international research projects, internships, and more, providing additional funding for international placements to enhance their study programs.

In line with Bayer’s commitment to gender equality in science,  it strongly encourage applications from women, individuals from low- & middle-income countries, parents with caring responsibilities for children, and individuals working within Germany with German as a second language.

Eligibilities

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a master’s, PhD, or medical degree program.
  • Bachelor’s students and postdoctoral researchers are not eligible.
  • The fellowship cannot be undertaken at commercial organizations (e.g., private companies or industries).
  • Applicants must arrange their research placement at a host institution.
  • Students enrolled outside of Germany must complete their research stay within Germany.
  • Students enrolled at a German university must complete their research stay outside of Germany.
  • Must demonstrate a strong academic record with excellent performance in previous studies.

Application Process

  • Applicants are eligible for up to 10.000 € in funding and can undertake fellowships for up to six months.
  • The fellowship can be used for research projects, internships and more.
  • People studying in Germany must undertake placements in a second country and those studying outside Germany must undertake their fellowships at a German research institution.
