CALL FOR THE VISUAL STORYTELLERS!!!
The 2025–2026 Project Grants from Working Assumptions represent an encouraging avenue for photographers and visual artists who want to produce significant work on family relationships and caregiving, and human interaction. Working Assumptions offers $10,000 unrestricted grants annually to six artists or artist teams who pursue creative visual storytelling about family connections and belonging as each artist defines them.

The selected projects must begin development before the application deadline and include work that engages the public through exhibitions, along with books and performances, and educational or therapeutic programs, as well as unique photo-based art initiatives.
The entire grant duration consists of eight months between September 15, 2025, and May 15, 2026, in which artists receive full support for realizing their creative ideas without financial limitations. Working Assumptions selects stories that come from genuine experiences of its subjects, who develop meaningful relationships through photographing their subjects for extended periods.

The application process welcomes projects that break conventional thinking about family dynamics as well as caregiving systems in various cultural environments. Working Assumptions makes the argument that viewing care leads directly to valuing care. This belief guides the platform to use visual storytelling as a method that can lead audiences toward deeper, compassionate understanding of human emotional connections. Through this funding opportunity, you can pursue either a delicate portrait exhibition about your loved ones or a daring exploration of communal caregiving systems, or a new view of family life in current society. It provides resources to develop your work as well as public distribution channels.
Working Assumptions is not just funding art—it is nurturing a movement to make care visible, memorable, and meaningful.
