The Comics Advocacy Group is an organization dedicated to making careers in comics more accessible and sustainable. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we aim to address systemic barriers in the comics industry by providing access to educational resources, networking opportunities, and financial support, as well as advocating for fair wages and working practices.

The Comics Advocacy Group (CAG) is proud to announce the launch of its second Mini-Grant initiative. This grant aims to provide small, unrestricted funding to comic creators who require additional resources to sustain their creative work. Recognizing the rising costs of essentials such as food and housing, the CAG Mini Grant offers a $500 mutual aid grant to support cartoonists. This funding is designed to give creators the time and space needed to focus on the projects that matter most to them, without the burden of taking on extra work.

Earlier this year, the inaugural round of the Mini-Grant was awarded to thirty recipients. A recent follow-up with these awardees highlighted the impact of the funding. Recipients were able to decline low-paying gigs, invest in art supplies, enhance their resumes, cover rent and childcare expenses, purchase groceries, and more.

Applicants must demonstrate their involvement in comics by sharing a website or portfolio link showcasing their work.
Applicants must describe their current project and explain how the CAG Mini Grant will assist them.
Applicants must disclose relevant personal and professional details, such as years of experience, household income, and the target age group for their comics.
