The Biodiversity Drawing Contest has the main objective to promote the subject of biological natural heritage, like the natural regions, the ecosystems, the habitats and the species of wild fauna and flora, through the selection and classification of works, drawings, and illustrations related to this subject, according to the criteria defined in regulation.

The subject of the contest is the Biodiversity, portrayed through illustrations of fauna, flora and wild habitats.
The categories foreseen in this contest are:
a) Illustration/Scientific design, which applies concepts and techniques of drawing and elements of descriptive and informative character with scientific rigor
b) Illustration/Nature Drawing, which seeks to portray, through drawing techniques, wild fauna land floristic species.

  •  The prizes to be awarded in the category of Scientific Drawing are the following:
    a) 1st prize | € 500.00 (five hundred euros)
    b) 2nd prize | € 200.00 (two hundred euros)
    c) 3rd prize | € 100.00 (one hundred euros)
  •  The prizes to be awarded in the category of Nature Design are as follows:
    a) 1st prize | € 250.00 (two hundred and fifty euros)
    b) 2nd prize | € 100.00 (one hundred euros)
    c) 3rd prize | € 50.00 (fifty euros)

Eligibilities

a) Drawings in digital format with the following requirements:
i. Minimum size 300 PPI (pixels per inch) in original piece size
ii. In RGB and JPEG format
b) Drawings should  not contain author’s signature, watermarks, frames or identification in the metadata.
c) Drawings must be presented within the deadline defined for the contest.
d) Drawings must be  of any geographical origin.
2 – The techniques of drawing are free, being mandatory the reference to the technique used.
3 – Illustrations/drawings relating to domesticated species or animals kept in captivity will not be accepted.
4 – Works that have been submitted in other editions and contests organized by the Entities mentioned in this regulation will not be accepted.
5 – The illustrations/drawings presented under the category “scientific design” must identify the presented species (through its complete and unambiguous scientific name) and a text with a maximum of 300 characters, that addresses and describes the main elements represented in the drawing (morphological or other details).
