Call for entries for the 8th International Poster Contest “RACISM – XENOPHOBIA”!
“Racism – Xenophobia,” the theme of the eighth international poster contest, is announced by the Museum of Typography Yiannis and Eleni Garedakis. This year’s international poster contest is titled “Racism – Xenophobia,” stressing once again a pressing issue for the entire globe. It is set to take place in the country of Zeus Xenios, on the island of the guardian of strangers already since the ancient times.
There should be a brief explanation text that goes with the poster, outlining its goals and content. Adults are invited; most are professionals and students studying graphic and visual arts. The first three posters chosen from the 30 by the jury—whose members will be revealed soon—will win hefty monetary awards.
These posters will be on display in an exhibition that runs through the Museum of Typography’s amphitheatre for a whole year, or until the following competition. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Chania, Souda, Crete’s Park of Local Industries, in the Amphitheatre of the Museum of Typography. The competition results will be revealed during the awards event, which will take place in the “Museum of Typography” amphitheatre. The results will be published in the newspaper “Haniotika Nea” following the ceremony.
Each participant is limited to submitting one unique project that hasn’t been entered into another contest. The “Museum of Typography by Yiannis & Eleni Garedakis” and “Haniotika Nea” SA personnel are not allowed to compete.
By entering the competition, the producers certify that the information they utilised to produce their work is unique and free of third-party copyrights. The authors of the three pieces that will be given away affirm that they have given up all rights to their creations. All or any portion of the content submitted by the 30 winners may be freely repurposed for any reason and in any format, original or modified, by the Museum of Typography of Giannis and Eleni Garedaki.
