Terre des Hommes, also Terre des Hommes (Land of People or Land of Men) is an international children’s rights charitable humanitarian organization under the aegis of the International Federation of Terre des Hommes (TDHIF). They are working for the rights of children and to promote equitable development without racial, religious, political, cultural or gender-based discrimination. Their work in Bangladesh includes improving the health of mother and child, developing sanitation systems, responding to natural disasters and recently, working to alleviate the Rohingya crisis.
The violent events in the Rakhine State of Myanmar have displaced 615,000 people from their homes to refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar. The situation is especially vulnerable for children, who also need protection beyond the basic needs: they potentially suffered the most from the dramatic events which happened in Myanmar and during the cross-border journey to Bangladesh and they are now the most vulnerable in the refugee camps where living conditions are particularly harsh.
In response to this humanitarian crisis, TDH seeks to deliver integrated services and support to children in Cox Bazar through provisions of psychosocial support to refugee children, youth and adults and targeted child protection services to the most vulnerable children, including children affected by family separation.
