World vision is hiring Deputy Response Director for Bangladesh Rohingya Crisis Response 2023 in Cox’s Bazar
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Response Director in Developing and monitoring and implementation of integrated humanitarian response and development strategy that contributes to WV Bangladesh’s 5-year strategy
- Assist RD in ensuring BRCR is staffed to meet changing emergency and development needs
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with humanitarian actors, government representatives, World Vision stakeholders, the media and general public
- Assist RD to develop and plan Response to achieve Response strategy goal and objectives
- Implement Response programme in accordance with commitments to meet international and WV standards
- Initiate resourcing mechanisms and ensure financial and material (in-kind) resources are managed according to WV standards, donor and SO agreements
- Assist RD in Overseeing Security function, planning and implementation to ensure response staff and organizational safety and security
- Ensure response internal and external reporting requirements are met
- Ensure that response meets WV minimum quality standards and supports program improvement, reflection, learning and innovation
- Assist RD in ensuring that staff have appropriate housing, offices and information/communication systems.

Eligibilities
Educational Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Humanitarian/Development Studies, Management, or relevant field
Experience Requirements:
- At least 8 year(s)
Additional Requirements:
- Age at least 40 years
- A minimum of 8-10 years in leadership role in the humanitarian assistance and development sector, with a significant portion of this in INGOs
- 5 years’ experience in humanitarian assistance work especially working in the Rohingya Response in Cox’s Bazar
- Demonstrated understanding of key humanitarian principles, standards and best practices
- Experience in program management and implementation of multi-sectoral humanitarian or development projects
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively and diplomatically with senior internal and external stakeholders
- Proven track record of handling diverse funding streams and international donors
- Strong team leadership skills
- Experience working in turbulent, fragile, and or “nexus” contexts (emergency to development continuum)
- Experience working in contexts with Refugee and IDP populations
- Demonstrated experience in engaging with governmental institutions, multilateral agencies, and humanitarian donors
- Effective in written and verbal communication in English
- Understanding of the international humanitarian system, particularly the systems, structures and key actors
- Understanding of the key accountabilities that must be maintained in a response (beneficiaries, donors, peers)
- Ability to lead strategic planning processes
- Strong change management skills
- Emotional Intelligence (self-awareness, managing emotions and those of others, remaining calm/composed, dealing with ambiguity and change, personal resilience)
- Experience in leadership coordination roles with other humanitarian actors (humanitarian clusters, NGO platforms, NGO Board service, etc.)
- Experience overseeing staff size of 100 or more
- Experience managing a funding portfolio of $15M or more
- Experience working with local/national NGO partners as sub-grantees for donor grants
- Critical incident/crisis management experience
- Ability to analyze and make decisions in challenging situations in the absence of specific guidance and/or full information
- Ability to communicate and model to staff positive behaviors which help them remain resilient and effective in dynamic and high pressure environments.
