UNDP is looking for Project Analyst (Local Government) 2025 in Dhaka.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Project Coordination & Support
- Work closely under the supervision of the Project Manager to support the delivery of project outputs and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Programme Lead, UNDP Operations Unit, relevant government officials, private sector entities, and civil society organizations to ensure integrated implementation of activities.
- Ensure alignment of project activities with the overall strategy of the Initiation Plan for Sustainable Financing.
2. Integration of Climate Finance into Local Governance
- Support the mainstreaming of climate finance into local government planning, budgeting, and resource allocation processes.
- Conduct reviews and assessments of existing legal and policy frameworks for Local Government Institutions (LGIs) to identify gaps in climate finance integration.
- Develop and disseminate tools, guidelines, and frameworks to help LGIs adopt climate-sensitive governance approaches.
- Facilitate the harmonization of local development plans with national climate policies such as the BCCSAP, NAP, and NDC.
3. Capacity Building & Technical Support
- Design and deliver training programs to strengthen the capacity of LGI officials in climate finance management.
- Provide hands-on technical assistance and advisory support to LGIs for effective implementation of climate-focused projects.
- Foster collaboration among LGIs, community stakeholders, and national agencies to reinforce governance mechanisms.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Sharing
- Organize participatory workshops, consultations, and capacity-building events involving a wide range of stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, academia, and private sector actors.
- Lead knowledge-sharing efforts by identifying best practices and lessons learned from project activities.
- Support the establishment of knowledge platforms and develop innovative tools and resources for the dissemination of project learnings.
5. Advocacy & Communication
- Promote awareness and advocacy on emerging development trends and opportunities within the thematic area.
- Contribute to the preparation of communication materials in coordination with UNDP communications staff and project partners.
- Represent the project in knowledge networks and communities of practice to strengthen strategic positioning and partnerships.

Eligibilities
Job Requirements:
1. Educational Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Public Administration, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field from a recognized institution is required.
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) in the above-mentioned fields, plus an additional two (2) years of relevant experience, may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree.
2. Professional Experience
- For Master’s degree holders: No prior work experience required.
- For Bachelor’s degree holders: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience, particularly with the Local Government Division and institutions focused on climate change and financing.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Capacity-building and stakeholder engagement to enhance local government institutions.
- Public financial management and resource allocation at the local government level.
- Analyzing governance frameworks and integrating climate finance into local plans and budgets.
- Interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to liaise at project management levels.
- Working in multicultural, international environments.
- Team collaboration and coordination.
3. Language Requirements
- Fluency in both English and Bangla (spoken and written) is required.
