UN Women is hiring head of Sub Office in 2022
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the programmatic development in Cox’s Bazar, based on the Strategic Note 2022- 2026:
- Lead the implementation of the programmes in Cox’s Bazar:
- Represent UN Women in coordination mechanisms at the sub-office level and ensure coordination on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) across the humanitarian and peace/security engagements of the UN at sub-office level:
- Oversee monitoring and reporting for Cox’s Bazar programmes:
- Review budget management for Cox’s Bazar sub-office and manage people
- Build partnerships and support in developing resource mobilization strategies:
- Lead knowledge building and sharing efforts
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by supervisor from time to time.
Key Performance Indicators:
Timely and quality implementation of Programme/Portfolio/Project activities against set workplans, timelines and budgets, in line with the Strategic Note
Quality and timely reporting
Excellent relations with partners and stakeholders
Regular and timely monitoring of activities
Enhanced best practices and lessons learned documented and circulated
Increase in resources mobilized
Performance of Staff members
Increase awareness of UN Women in the Country .

Eligibilities
Academic Qualifications:
Master’s degree or equivalent in public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, social sciences or other related areas is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A project/programme management certification would be an added advantage.
Experience:
At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in programme management, including programme design, programme coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building;
Experience in setting priorities, budgets, work plans, participating in programme development and programme writing;
Proven experience in leading teams effectively;
Experience in working in a gender related area is an asset;
Experience working on humanitarian action and crises response, as well as peace and security an asset;
Field level experience in crises situation an asset.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required;
Working knowledge of the other UN official working language is an asset.
