Job Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor our engineering team, fostering their career growth and aligning their personal goals with the company’s objectives.
- Managerial and Technical Balance: Maintain a balance between managerial duties and technical involvement. Be prepared to occasionally participate in coding, design reviews, and architectural decision-making.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Engage in meaningful dialogue with Product, SRE, Platform, etc. teams, offering insights into technical solutions and their implications, while ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Cultivating Operational Excellence: Champion a culture of operational excellence within the team. Ensure services and components are optimized and reliable, occasionally contributing directly through leadership and technical input.
- Driving Team Alignment and Results: Lead the team effectively, especially in projects with ambiguous scopes. Set clear expectations, provide consistent feedback, and occasionally involve yourself in guiding technical solutions.
- Performance Monitoring and Guidance: Monitor and assess team performance. Provide guidance and support for continuous improvement and effective problem-solving and be ready to contribute directly to technical initiatives when needed.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to create a cohesive and effective working environment, striking a balance between managerial responsibilities and occasional active technical involvement.

Eligibilities
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Golang and Python, with a strong technical background in software development.
- Proven experience in leading and/or managing high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of Git, CI/CD practices, Docker, and container/service orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and Terraform.
- Experience with databases such as Elasticsearch, Redis, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure e.g. GCP management and large-scale consumer facing web applications.
- Experience with agile delivery workflows and modern software quality techniques like TDD, SOLID, etc.
- Experience in microservice or service-oriented architecture and a strong understanding of its implications and challenges.
- Exceptional English communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to analyse and articulate the trade-offs of technical solutions aligning with business deliverables.
- Strong customer empathy and effectiveness in handling unclear project scopes, driving alignment, and delivering results with various stakeholders.
