Local Government Engineering Depertment (LGED) is hiring Sociologist 2021 in Dhaka

The District Sociologist will play a critical role in the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of all social Dimensions and Social Safeguard Policy of Project. General social development work including the implementation of the information and communications strategy; participatory and consultation activities with different categories of beneficiaries, project affected persons (PAP), indigenous people and stakeholders; and implementation of the Suggestion and Complaints Handling Mechanism

• Ensuring engineer’s office with furniture, labor shed with waste disposal facility; tube well, toilet, first aid box and personal protective equipment
• Land Acquisition and Resettlement
• Develop continuous refining and up-dating date base of information relevant for all aspect of biodiversity management and establishing collaborative relationship with other Agencies to ensure the maximum
• Preparing regular district – level reports, the agenda and papers for organizing and writing and monitoring the follow – up to decision on the handling to follow-up from the PMU about these reports
• Ensuring office security, arranging entertainment service, assisting in other official jobs as assigned by PD or project institution authority
• Social and environmental monitoring, reporting and management, participatory technique in community development, social and environmental screening report and analysis.Socio – Economic monitoring and evaluation activities, data collection, resettlement action plan including survey and social impact management activities.
• Develop approaches to solution of groups’ problem, based on finding procedures, techniques, consultation, role playing, participation, observation of interaction for additional and incorporation for change sociological research study in related disciplines
• Contributing to the training of Community Organizers and GRC & SCC
• Monitor all kinds of roads related Social & Environmental works with Safeguard issues
• Social & Environmental Screening Report to the Company in the Head level in regular basis
• Generally providing support the XENs and the PMU on all social aspects of project implementation and reporting.

Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) is an organ of Bangladesh government created for provision of transport infrastructures in rural areas and to provide technical support to the rural and the urban local government institutions (LGIs), planning and implementation of infrastructure development projects in the rural and urban areas to improve communication and transport network, job creation, and poverty reduction.
