Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with Business Stakeholders to explore data and iterate on data designs
- Define data strategies to support key business functions
- Model and interact with tools that move data in our business systems
- Ensure data engineering is following proper data governance organizational methods
- Build data processing systems to deliver high quality data in a timely fashion from a variety of sources.
- Create data models that reflect business structures and adapt these for specific reporting and analytic needs.
- Communicate with department heads to determine data needs.
- Responsible for negotiating and making product and vendor selections.
- Service data requests from internal customers.

Eligibilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Science, Statistics or Math preferred but equivalent experience accepted.
- 3-5 years of solid data modeling experience. Knows how to take existing data or user requirements and create a data model that is optimized for reporting.
- Data manipulation and ETL experience. Experience using SSIS, Informatica or another ETL tool. Can build data processing systems that perform in a scalable and fault-resistant manner.
- Strong analysis and communication skills required. Able to discuss data needs with end users and document requirements for other team members.
- Extensive experience querying data sets using SQL. Can deliver ad hoc reports quickly.
- Exposure to a variety of data sets such as financial, web events, sales.
- Strong desire to learn data technologies such as streaming, big data systems, etc.
- Experience with column-store databases such as AWS Redshift is preferred.
- Experience working within agile software engineering methodologies using tools such as GitHub and JIRA is preferred.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies is preferred.
- Programming skills in data-centric languages such as Python is preferred.
- Familiarity with Matillion ELT tool for Redshift is preferred.
