Ding is looking for Database Administrator 2022 in Dhaka

About this role:

Reporting to the head of the DBA Team, the successful candidate will work as part of our database administration team! Their role will include administering all Ding’s data storage technologies across a range of corporate, test and production environments. A successful candidate will learn these technologies and will maximize their productivity by automating as much routine work as possible.

What we need you to do:

  • Take responsibility for data storage in Ding.
  • Administer and support a range of database technologies including MS Sql Server, MongoDb, Kafka and Redis.
  • Support a wide range of virtualized environments including corporate, test and production environments.
  • Patch, monitor, and secure Sql Server, MongoDb, Kafka and Redis
  • Optimize and tune Ding’s data stores, enhance indexing and reduce locking where needed.
  • Support and advise engineers in Ding as they build and enhance software and services that make use of our data stores.
  • Improve your effectiveness through automation and tooling, keeping routine work at a minimum.
  • Take part in review and planning as Ding advances our data storage capabilities to meet future needs including growth, new features, and security enhancements.
  • Join the rota for on call support of key environments on 24/7 basis

Eligibilities

  • A bachelor’s or masters’ degree or equivalent with qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT related fields.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in SQL Server Administration with relational databases
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a 24/7 online environment with close to zero downtime
  • Fluent in English
  • Good communication, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Solid experience managing SQL Server Availability Groups and an understanding of Sql Server AlwaysOn behaviour
  • Strong experience working with Windows Server as well as a good working knowledge of Linux environments.
  • All professional qualifications and exposure and experience with MS SQL Server, MongoDb, and Kafka will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of PowerShell and/or other scripting languages
  • A forward-looking attitude toward database technologies, choosing solutions that best meet our longer-term business needs
  • Experience working with operations and developer operations teams and a pro-active approach to maintenance and delivery of data technology.
