BRAC is looking for Lead, Safeguarding 2024 in Dhaka.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies and approaches to ensure effective implementation of the safeguarding aspects according to organizational requirements.
- Lead the overall planning, management, and implementation of safeguarding activities to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives. Also, ensure that safeguarding and other subset policies are in place, updated periodically, and comply with the strategic partner/donors.
- Ensure collaboration and cooperation between programs, departments, and enterprises to effectively integrate safeguarding and make safeguarding a joint responsibility and collective achievement.
- Oversee the Safeguarding and PSEA strategy for HCMP, and maintain a close relationship with the donor community, UN agencies, and the PSEA network under the IASC (Inter-Agency Standing Committee) in the humanitarian sector.
- Plan and ensure regular assessments to identify gaps and challenges in safeguarding knowledge and practices through MEAL and IAD mechanisms.
- Response to regular partner assessment process before fund allocation initiated by UN agencies, SPA partners, donors and coordinate with them with necessary evidence on organizational safeguarding strengths
- Develop a communication strategy for disseminating safeguarding policies and the Code of Conduct to all levels of staff, volunteers, and stakeholders, including creating necessary promotional materials.
- Monitor and assess the organization’s compliance with safeguarding policies and regulations, and recommend improvements or adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain regular coordination with the case investigation and management process to ensure a victim-centered approach, child protection, and principles of gender-based violence (GBV).
- Execute capacity-building initiatives for team members and create learning opportunities for further professional growth.

Job Requirements:
Educational Requirements:
- Master’s degree preferably in Human Resource Management or Gender Studies, or Labor Relations
Experience Requirement:
- Minimum eight (08) years of experience in the relevant field, especially in Safeguarding, PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuses), gender justice/protection of sexual and gender-based violence, and HR functions. Practical experience in working with communities in humanitarian or development projects would be an added advantage.
Additional Job Requirements:
- Strong communication skills—oral and written, ideally in Bengali and English.
- Specialized knowledge in developing programs focused on children and adolescents with a gender-sensitive approach.
- Excellent knowledge of donors and the UN system for practicing safeguarding and PSEA standards, as well as managing cases, investigations, and reviewing investigation reports.
