World Health Organization is hiring National Consultant-NCD 2022 in Bangladesh
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to the Government counterpart and other relevant stakeholders to
- Generate evidence in the areas of noncommunicable diseases and mental health.
- Adopt and implement the WHO Comprehensive Mental Health Action Plan and evidence-based policies to promote mental health.
- Expand mhGAP implementation to ensure care for mental disorders through primary care approach, strengthen Mental Health and Psychosocial support in emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Adopt evidence-based policies, implement multisectoral action plans and policies to prevent and control noncommunicable diseases, promote healthy settings, address social determinants of health.
- Scale up WHO PEN interventions in districts.
- Adopt and implement policies and action plans to prevent and manage injuries, including drowning, promote road safety initiatives, improve post-crash response.
- Strengthen services for disabilities and gender-based violence.
- Adopt and implement the Prevention and Response to Sexual Exploitation Abuse and Harassment (PRSEAH) policy and procedures.
- Strengthen monitoring, supervision and data management relating to NCDs and mental health.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned, including backstopping

Eligibilities
Required Qualifications:
Essential: University degree in health sciences (MBBS, BDS, Psychology or equivalent)
Desirable: Post graduate degree in public health/ Clinical psychology or psychiatry/ related subject
Experience Essential: At least three years of work in NCD, mental health or public health
Desirable: Experience of working with government or non-government organizations on NCD, mental health or public health issues
