Global Center on Adaptation is hiring CVF Program Assistant (Intern) 2022 in Dhaka

Responsibilities :

  • Support to the CVF Presidency: The Program Assistant will support the engagements of the CVF presidency of Bangladesh with the supervision of CVF Program Officer. This includes technical and administrative support along with follow-ups with relevant ministries, as and when required.
  • Administration: Provide the administrative support necessary to ensure the effective running of the CVF operations. This can include contracting service providers, supporting the preparation of travel arrangements, managing correspondence, and arranging meetings, taking notes, among others.
  • Communications: Support internal and external communication processes, including through liaison with CVF members and partners in Rotterdam or abroad;
  • Programmatic support: Contribute to the implementation of the CVF different activities according to need through the performance of tasks such as document drafting, desk research, support in the organization of program-related events, and further tasks as required.
  • Event Coordination: The Program Assistant will need to have active engagement in event coordination. Additionally, the Program Assistant may be requested to perform any other relevant tasks of an organizational or substantive nature as directed by the supervisor according to evolving CVF programmatic and project needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


Education:

  • Currently enrolled in relevant studies in a bachelor or master’s level program, holding a bachelor level degree/equivalent and enrolled but pending course commencement in a relevant master’s degree or equivalent (advanced degree), or, in certain cases, have recently completed a relevant advanced degree or holding such a degree and seeking professional re-orientation
  • Relevant discipline includes: International Affairs/Relations, International Development Studies, International Law, Public Policy, Human Rights, Environmental Studies, or related fields.

Experience:

  • Previous work experience or demonstrated interest in non-profit operations or in sustainable development, climate change and/or environmental protection policy and communication projects. Experience in an international organisation, the non-profit sector and/or working in or with least developed countries and/or small island developing states an asset.

Competencies, roles & requirements:

  • Ability to work as a proactive team player;
  • Positive, driven and constructive attitude to work in a global team;
  • Strong command over Bengali (for translation and communication purposes) along with English;
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Strong computer skills, particularly of MS Word, and e-mail application;
  • Be available to assist the Program Officer CVF in meetings, organizing international event, hosting missions in Bangladesh etc.;
  • Available to attend and support team at the GCA Regional Office in Dhaka on a regular basis;
  • Good planning skills demonstrated through good time management, capacity to plan, and ability to deliver tasks on time and be flexible to work with teammates across various time-zones;
