ActionAid Bangladesh is looking for Intern (Humanitarian Programme) 2022 in Dhaka
Job Summary:
Responsibility of the intern is to support Humanitarian programme team of AAB to collect case stories from field level focusing on issues of Disaster Preparedness and Resilience & Climate Justice. The primary assignment will include reviewing the assigned topic documents, gathering relevant data from different stakeholders at field level, and drafting case stories related to disaster preparedness and resilience of the community. The incumbent will have extensive field visit across the country.
Responsibilities:
Collect case stories from field
- Conduct desk review of existing ActionAid documents before field visit.
- Prepare field visit plan for collecting case stories.
- Coordinate with teams i.e. Humanitarian Programme, Resilience & Climate Justice and Communications and others as required.
- Develop skeleton different for different case story based on purpose and targeted audience.
- Visit targeted fields and collect stories from disaster preparedness and resilience angle.
- Sit with all relevant stakeholders in field to understand the impact on community based on AAB
implemented programmes/projects.
Draft Case Stories
- Draft case stories (following the agreed skeleton) with narratives collected from field in both article and blog series format.
- Follow up with team in shaping and finalizing the case stories following designated writing style.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Eligibilities
Education & Training:
- Masters’ degree is preferred. Bachelor’s degree is required in Disaster Management; Environment Management; Natural Resource and Disaster Management; or relevant field
- Experience with extensive field visit is required.
Experience:
- Previous experience in writing case stories, stories, blogs or articles would be an added value.
Technical Skills:
- Excellent writing, analytical and research skills.
- Command on Local dialects of Bangladesh will be an added value
- Ability to identify significant information and present it in a simple and engaging way.
- General computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in English and Bengali
