International Conference on “Blue Economy for Sustainable Development”
It is their pleasure to inform that GreenTech Foundation Bangladesh along with Blue Economy Cell, Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources and Department of Oceanography, University of Dhaka has organized an International Conference on “Sustainable Blue Economy for the Development of Bangladesh”. Due to an unavoidable circumstance the conference has been rescheduled on 24 April 2019 instead of 28 March 2019 at Nowab Nobab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, University of Dhaka.
Mr. M. A. Mannan, MP, Minister, Ministry of Planning has given his consent to Inaugurate the Conference as Chief Guest. Rear Admiral (retd) M. Khurshed Alam, Secretary Maritime Affairs Unit Ministry of Foreign Affairs will give the key note speech.
According to the present government’s manifesto, the resources of the sea, called the “blue economy”, have created a new opportunity to develop Bangladesh. Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized the marine-based economic activities and management of sea and its resources through “Blue Economy” and she also stressed the need for tapping the huge potentials of sea and sea resources through proper management to ensure sustainable development. As such this conference will be the time demanding and effective approach to create mass awareness on the marine-based economic activities through Blue Economy.
