Bangladesh Youth COP 2022
Conference of Parties (COP) discussions on climate change problems have grown in importance over time. This year’s COP 27 will take place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt in November. Bangladesh also faces critical climate-based problems every year with varying difficulty levels. However, due to some constraints, only a few people get the honor of participating in COPs. Although they do their best to address the issues faced by Bangladesh, they definitely do not cover all the aspects of climate change effects people are facing from different geographical regions. Hence, with the motto to hear from all, the Brighters Society of Bangladesh is going to arrange a pre-COP conference named ‘Bangladesh Youth COP 2022’ with the support of ActionAid Bangladesh, to make the stand clear for the youths from the global south. Young people’s participation in the COP bears considerably more significance as an important stakeholder, especially for the marginalized community from the global south and nations with sensitive climates. The main aim of this program is to make the standing points clearer to the youth so that their voices can be heard. Through this COP participants will learn about the fundamentals of the problem and also they will present their ideas to climate advocates, policymakers which will help them to think differently.
