Economics Career Alliance presents ECA Career Exposition 2020 in Dhaka

Economics Career Alliance of Dhaka University is going to organize ECA Career Exposition 2020 in Dhaka.

Career Exposition 2020 will be a complete package consisting of case competitions, job fair and at the same time segments to address the job sector and policy structure. Generally, the student community is not groomed specifically in the regard of the job market and this expo is aiming to support them on career development.

The expo is planned to be a three-day event comprising of the following segments:

1. Job Fair: The coveted job fair is planned to connect the present student community with the recruiters in the job market. The fair will provide ample opportunities to the participants to interact with prospective employers and help them plan out their career path. This segment will represent the current scenario job sector dynamic and its distinctive features.

The participants will be able to submit their CV to the recruiting channels of various companies and organizations.

The job fair will include –

• Public Sector Representation
• Research Organizations
• Development Sector Organizations
• Business Corporations
• Start-ups

This segment is open for all.

2. Start-up Patron: This segment is solely designed to support the start-up companies by providing them with the platform to present their stories & service structure. This event should enable them to get exposure to the student community and help them with their branding purposes. Also, they can meet potential investors and interact regarding product and service upgrades.

3. Case Competition: A competition focused on solving cases based on job market perspectives will be held. The participants will be asked to propose a viable solution with analysis and presentations.

Rules & Regulations:
• This segment is open for university-level students. Any three students can form a team and all the members have to be from the same institution.
• There will be three phases of this competition.
• The registration and online case analysis will be at phase one.
• The second phase will include the workshops, group works and presentation of their solution to the problem.
• Top 10 teams will be selected from phase two for the final round. The final round will be based solely on policy proposals.
• At the Final, 3 teams will be chosen as Champion, Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up.
• Also, all top 10 finalist teams will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the event.

4. Economics and Business Quiz Competition: A quiz competition will be held among the participants from universities to test their knowledge and insights about the dynamics and evolution of Economics, Business and Financial Sector. At the same time, their knowledge of the job market and industrial evolution will be tested.

5. Public Speech Competition: A public speech competition will be arranged during this event to help the students share their aspirations and ideas. The topics will cover various current aspects of economic issues, unemployment issues and career aspects. Also, the burning issues from socio-economic changes and political events will be part of the themes. Individual students from universities will be able to participate in this segment.

6. Poster Competition: A crafted poster competition will take place based on socio-economic themes.

Rules & Regulations:
• This segment is open for university-level students. Any three students can form a team and all the members have to be from the same institution.
• The posters from the teams have to be submitted by 19th February (11:00 am), 2020.
• At the Final, 3 teams will be chosen as Champion, Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up. Also, all top 10 finalist teams will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the event.

7. Policy Address & Panel Discussion: The expo will have various seminars and panel discussions from distinguished professionals from their respective fields as guest speakers. The purpose of this segment is to introduce students with their possible future career options, the challenges & ever-changing features of the job market and at the same time showing the pathways for the students to achieve their career goals.

8. Training and Workshops: ECA will arrange various training sessions and workshops for the participants with the aim to sharpen their soft skills and overall career boosting acquisitions for the modern workplace.

9. Industry Analysis: Experts will share their insights in this interactive session regarding the growth of various industries. The historical events and the growth structure of various organizations and institutions will be discussed and analyzed. Students can actively participate and learn regarding market structure and industrial evolution.

10. Photo Gallery: A photo gallery will be set up to represent the aesthetic aspect of the people thriving in their professions and building a better future. The student photographers will submit their photos on the diversities of the employment scenario nationally and globally.
