Job Responsibilities:
1. Copyediting & Proofreading:
- Edit knowledge products, donor reports, research studies, and advocacy materials to ensure clarity, coherence, and accuracy.
- Align documents with UN editorial guidelines and UN Women’s established formats.
- Perform substantive edits, including rewriting sections when necessary.
- Proofread print-ready versions for final accuracy.
2. Content Development & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure documents are reader-friendly, accessible, and results-based.
- Maintain consistency in terminology, grammar, style, and formatting.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to refine and enhance content quality.
3. Project-Based Work & Availability:
- Work on a retainer contract, allowing for flexible engagement based on workload.
- Accept assignments on demand, with tasks varying in duration depending on the document’s length and complexity.

Eligibilities
Job Requirements:
1. Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, International Development, Communications, or a related field.
- A bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant work experience may be considered.
2. Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in editing and copyediting.
- Experience in editing documents related to gender and development issues is an advantage.
- Proven expertise in editing donor reports, advocacy briefs, and communication materials.
- Prior experience working with a UN agency is an asset.
3. Technical & Soft Skills:
- Proficiency in English with excellent editorial and proofreading skills.
- Strong ability to structure, format, and refine documents for clarity and impact.
- Knowledge of UN editorial guidelines and international development terminology.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
