JAAGO Foundation is hiring Academic and Career Counselor, Child Welfare Team 2023 in Dhaka

Job Responsibilities

  • Counsel the senior students to help them to understand the best possible option for higher education.
  • Assist the senior students to apply in different colleges, universities and educational institutions.
  • Maintain smooth communication with the senior students to allocate their financial support from JAAGO.
  • Maintain smooth communication with colleges, universities and other educational institutions for regular updates and additional related information.
  • Maintain the monthly financial support expense log for the senior students.
  • Prepare plans, budgets, training, sessions and other related things for any kind of scholarship/exchange program etc., for the senior students.
  • Groom different groups of students or individuals for different scholarship/program etc.
  • Assist individual students in preparing and completing different application/registration forms for various programs.
  • Coordinate and maintain communication with potential organizations and students for internship and job placement.
  • Prepare plan, budget and execute any event related to senior students and associated with different educational institutions.
  • Guide students in determining their interests and abilities using a wide range of methods, such as aptitude assessments, interviews and planning materials and help them to overcome challenges, obstacles and develop necessary skills.
  • Counsel individual learners, working with them to aid in developing hard and soft skills.
  • Conduct group workshops on various topics, including writing resumes and cover letters, successful job interviewing, using university employment databases and career development resources, researching graduate programs, learning how to job hunt and more.
  • Work with students to overcome issues that could undermine their academic or career success as well as crafting a long term plan for reaching their career objectives.
  • Connect learners to additional resources such as financial aid, vocational training, extensive counseling and therapy services, medical care providers, or other state and local assistance as needed.
  • Plan and publicize the career services center’s programs and events, such as workshops, job fairs, and orientation sessions.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff and other student services divisions to help achieve university-wide goals and contribute to its long-range planning.
  • Complete any other official task assigned by the supervisor.

Eligibilities

  • Must have idea/experience to counsel with students, parents or any other stakeholders.
  • Must have a basic idea regarding higher education institutions and systems such as colleges, diploma institutions, universities, and training providers.
  • Candidate should have excellent communication skills both in English & Bangla.
  • Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suit.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Education, Development Studies, Social Science, IR, Psychology, English or any other discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience. Fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
