Job Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and implement reliable and scalable data infrastructures
- Develop and ship medium to large features independently or with minimal support from other team members
- Support and grow other team members by setting direction, providing guidance, and active mentoring
- Effectively work with cross-disciplinary team members and stakeholders
- Advocate data engineering best practices
- Perform technical interviews

Eligibilities
Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a development team
- Strong experience planning, designing, and implementing data infrastructure as well as large-scale distributed systems
- Strong experience with Python or Scala (Python preferably)
- Experience in DevOps and containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with data processing pipeline frameworks, such as Luigi or Airflow
- Experience with a parallel data processing engine such as PySpark/Spark or similar cloud services
- Experience with source control tools (GitHub/GitLab)
- Understanding of the ML development life cycle and/or prior experience working with teams of Data Scientists or ML Engineers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

You will get bonus points if you have experience with the following, but otherwise, these are skills you are likely to learn in this role:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferably)
- Experience with cloud computing infrastructure (Azure preferably)
- Experience with functional programming concepts and architecture
- Experience with stream processing
Education
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
