International Republican Institute is looking for Grants Officer, Bangladesh 2022 in Dhaka

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understands assigned grant’s substantive, financial and compliance requirements.
  • Maintains an understanding of donor and IRI policies and procedures related to grant compliance and oversight.
  • Review sub-grantee invoices against the approved milestone schedules to verify that milestones are invoiced as budgeted.
  • Review, approve and fund disbursements to vendors and grantees in a timely manner and ensure that all expenses are allowable, allocable and documented per RTI/USAID policy and have adequate support documentation.
  • Contribute to budget analysis of grant applications
  • Contributes to financial reports to ensure high quality quarterly, semi-annual, and final reports.
  • Prepare cash projections, analyze fund status of partners to ensure funds are released as per the schedule.
  • Working with partner organization’s program and finance staff to ensure financial activities are carried out according to the agreement, policies and procedures set forth.
  • Design and provide periodic training to partner organization’s financial staff
  • Review budget proposals of grantees and sub-contractors and develop letter of grants/contracts
  • Contribute to oversee project’s internal and external financial audits, follow up on implementation of audit and compliance review recommendations.
  • Track value added taxes (VAT), compile submissions to Bangladesh Revenue Authority
  • Ensure sub-grantee complete the pre-award requirements (MSQ, Anti-terrorism and Site visit assessment tool) and signed grant agreement and grant modifications.
  • Ensure that grant money is used according to the operational and financial needs of the program by reviewing the supporting documents.
  • In collaboration with the program team, follow whether grantees submit all the required reports and other deliverables as per the program description and implementation plan.
  • Provides technical assistance as required to build capacity of local partners & grantees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Eligibilities

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related subjects.
  • Five years professional experience in in finance, grants management preferably working directly with INGOs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and accounting software is required.
  • Experience working with USAID or other donor-funded projects preferred.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills.
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate financial and monitoring skills of communities through capacity-building efforts.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with all clients, peers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work hands-on, independently, and within team.
  • Knowledge of auditing policies.
  • Experience with program implementation and basic accounting necessary.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Bengali.

        Bachelors or better in Political Science.

   Required

         5 years: Five years professional experience in in finance, grants management preferably                     working directly with INGOs.
