Apex is looking for Assistant Marketer 2021 in Dhaka.
Position Summary
The Assistant Controller is a full time position in the Finance Department of a not-for-profit Research Institute located in the North Bay, reporting directly to the Controller. The ideal candidate is a CPA with proven knowledge of not-for-profit GAAP, federal grants management and compliance, and prior supervisory responsibilities.
Position Responsibility
- Assists with management, oversight and review of all accounting functions including, but not limited to, reporting, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and purchasing.
- Assists with ensuring effective financial controls and compliance with all technical and regulatory accounting standards related to non-profit and research organizations including, but not limited to, Office of Management and Budget Uniform Guidance and National Institutes of Health Grants Policy Statement.
- Prepares quarterly financial statements and/or related schedules.
- Coordinates and oversees preparation of annual financial statements, compliance and retirement plan audits.
- Provides back-up expertise for payroll function at both the management and processing level.
- Assures accurate and timely journal entries and reconciliations for period end reporting.
- Prepares and reviews fixed asset ledgers and ensures all items are properly capitalized and depreciated.
- Assists with cash flow and budget to actual reporting.
- Assists with the development and validation of key departmental reports.
- Supports special projects as required, including, but not limited to, development of accounting best practices, policies, procedural manuals, departmental forms, intranet Q&A information and automation of manual workflow.
- Mentors and provides high-level technical leadership to the accounting staff and “go to” troubleshooting expertise in not-for-profit accounting and GAAP.
- Supports and backs-up all functional areas of the Finance department as necessary.
