They are excited to invite outstanding organizations and individuals to participate in the esteemed Pioneers in SDGs Awards – a global celebration of remarkable contributions to sustainable peace and development while advocating for human rights, the rule of law, and democracy at local, national, and global levels. Organized by the Journalists and Writers Foundation (JWF) and partnered with 36 Global Partners spanning 24 countries, the awards recognize those who have pioneered innovative and creative projects, effectively advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

About Pioneers in SDGs Awards 

The Pioneers in SDGs Awards honor those who have demonstrated unparalleled dedication to sustainable peace and development. By implementing transformational projects, these pioneers contribute to the attainment of the SDGs while fostering human rights, cultural diversity, and social inclusion. The awards underscore their pivotal role in shaping a better world for all. 

Why Participate? 

Collaboration is key to achieving sustainable development. Governments, the private sector, and civil society must unite in the pursuit of the SDGs. As such, the SDGs Conference: In the Margins of the UNGA78 encourages diverse stakeholders to submit their projects and initiatives, showcasing measurable progress towards the Global Goals. 

Pioneers in SDGs Award Ceremony 2023 

While they acknowledge the contributions of all projects, first–, second and third-place winners will be selected based on their potential to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals. All awardees and project participants will be celebrated during the virtual Pioneers in SDGs Award Ceremony on September 27, 2023

Eligibilities

  • Projects will be evaluated based on four core criteria: innovation, stakeholders, scope, and impact, each with specific indicators.
  • These scores will enable a comprehensive assessment of the projects’ innovation, stakeholder involvement, scope, and impact.

Application Process

  • To be considered for recognition, applicants are required to submit project details and a 3-minute introductory video (in English).
  • The video should outline the project’s goals, activities, outcomes, and impact.
  • Each submission must address four key evaluation criteria: innovation, stakeholders, scope, and impact.
  • They encourage participants to refer to the indicators specified for each criterion to enhance the quality of their responses.
