WAFF Creatives Fund 2023

WE ARE FAMILY FOUNDATION’s “Youth to the Front Fund” invites applicants to apply to the Creatives Fund 2023.

We Are Family Foundation created the Youth To The Front Fund to support and fund under-30-year-old youth activists, youth-led organizations, projects, innovations, and creative solutions at the forefront of fighting systemic racism, inequality, inequity, and injustice in the United States and around the world. Since Youth To The Front Fund began in 2020, we consistently witnessed how creativity fuels change.

Now, in 2023, the mission for Youth To The Front Fund is growing to uplift, support, and fund:

→ Artist Collectives
→ Cultural Storytellers
→ Creative Organizers

The special call is designed for creatives and collectives in the sector of:

• Visual Arts: Painting, Drawing, Sculpting, Photography, Filmmaking, Media, Digital Art, Illustration, Graphic Design, Graffiti, Street Art, Fashion Design, etc.
• Performance Arts: Dance, Theater, Experimental, etc.
• Music: Songwriting, Production, DJ-ing, etc.
• Writing & Literary Arts: Poetry, Prose, Spoken Word, etc.
• Creative Changemaking: Curation, Cultural Storytelling, Creative Organizing, Cooking & Culinary Arts, Folk Arts, etc.

The projects must focus on the following pillars in their approach:

→ Civics & Community Engagement

→ Education Equity

→ Climate, Arts, Social Justice

While the aim is to support and further the work of BIPOC individuals and communities, WAFF encourages those who do not identify as BIPOC but offer a project scope and design that illustrates solidarity and allyship with BIPOC individuals, communities, and organizations, to also apply.

Co-founded by legendary musician Nile Rodgers and inspired by the power and true meaning of his song, “We Are Family,” We Are Family Foundation’s mission has always focused on bringing people together from different ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds.
